Is our mini-fridge okay to have in a cabinet?
We just bought a mini-fridge to put in a bottom cabinet in our bar. The manual says it is meant to be free-standing and not be recessed or placed in something. Is it really a hazzard or will it be fine? There is about 3 inches behind the fridge and about 4 inches on either side.

- you must cut a cutout in the back of cabinet for proper cooling
- It will most likely overheat. The backs have to be open to the air to help keep the motor cool. It could cause a fire. I wouldn't chance it.
- Your mini-fridge needs ventilation, and can't keep it closed up in a cabinet, it will over heat.
- shouldnt be a problem. as long as there are little cracks around the door to allow minimum air curculation. the motor does not get hot enough to start a fire. i put mine in a small cabinet. only problem was it could not produce ice
- If there is adequate room at the sides and back of the fridge, I would not worry. If it is a tight fit, you might consider cutting a hole in the cabinet for ventilation. I don't think there would be a danger, the heat would beuild up and make the unit run longer.
