If you leave milk out in the car for 5 hours, if you put it back in the fridge, is it safe to drink?

1. I wouldn't drink it...
2. Put it in the fridge until it's cold. Taste test it. You won't die from a little swig and we all know what sour milk tastes like.
3. I wouldn't. Open it and smell it, it probably smells terrible.
4. No I wouldn't put it back in the fidge. I did that before and let me tell you I was sick as hell....threw up every 5 minutes for 8 hours straight. Throw it out, it's not worth it...go buy some more.
5. Assuming you just got it from the grocery store and it has remained unopened, it should be fine. It takes a lot for milk to become unsafe to drink -- the worst that will happen is that it might taste a little "off", but it's probably OK.
6. I wouldn't drink it, but you could taste it and see, you won't get sip from one sip.
7. if you like sour milk. it will not kill you but it won't taste too good.
8. Well, that depends on the temperature inside the car. If it's currently cooler or cold where you are living, then chances are that leaving your milk in the car isn't going to adversely affect it. If it's even slightly warm in your car, however, I would say that it's best to throw it away and get some fresh milk. It -is- cheap, and it's a lot better than feeling/getting ill. If you really are trying to save money, and/or are too lazy to get more milk, then let it chill for a couple of hours and then open it and give it a sniff... taste the top with the tip of your finger. If it's gone sour, you'll definitely know after 1 or both of those tests.

10. No, it is not safe. Even a small amount could be enough to make you sick, so don't try it. Any food that has been out of refrigeration or hot holding at appropriate temperatures for more than 4 hours should not be eaten. On a hot day, it is even less. On a day that is between 80 -100 degrees, I'd only eat stuff that's been out for an hour or less.
11. Depends on the temperature of the car: hot, no...cold, probably if under 50 degrees.....

14. What was the weather like out? If cold and snowy, perhaps you can still drink it but otherwise, don't. You can probably use it as buttermilk substitute for baking cakes.
