- so long as you are sure there is power to the fan, and the motor "tries" to turn before stopping, it may be simply that dust has got into the fan bearing, and clogged it up (same happened to me). Look for an adhesive label in the middle of the fan rotor - peel it off carefully and you should see the actual bearing, which is usually a sleeve bearing (good fans have a roller bearing) - you need to flush out the crud from that bearing with solvent - I used IPA (rubbing alcohol) and finished off with WD40 maintenance spray - this can be a bit messy, so if you can, dismount the fan first, and lay it on a bed of rags or kitchen towel to soak up the mess. When you have the bearing cleaned out, the fan should spin freely. Next stage is to mop up all the excess solvent and WD40 (cos dust will stick to it for sure) then use a cocktail stick to apply the smallest drop of thin oil, then seal up that bearing again, either with the original label, or something at least as adhesive, to keep the dust out.
- I'm not familiar with the model but if it's the type with a power supply, the problem is probably the power supply.
