Small 5th wheel fridge stopped freezing?

I have a small fridge/freezer in my fifth wheel that defrosted and now wont refreeze. The freezer is now super cold but wont freeze. It runs on both electric and propane but I have never run it on propane. Someone mentioned that there might be a bubble in an ammonia line? I'm thinking it's something simple but I'm totally ignorant to what might have gone wrong. What are some simple trouble shooter things I could do?

  1. Sometimes freezers will ice up on the inside under the lining. A simple way is to take the screws out and remove the casing, using a blow dryer to defrost any ice accumulated. Then put it back together and restart. If this doesn't work, take the time to have someone recharge the freon which is the gas used to freeze.free on
  2. the way to cure a bubble is to remove it and stand it on its top for a few days to a week . then stand it up right and plug it in to an Extension cord pr outlet. then see if it freezes. since these work by an element that heats the gases to make the circulate and this is what makes them freeze. your element may be bad if it dose not start to freeze after a few hours . so using propane may work because it uses a direct flame on the reservoir to heat the gas. if you do this make sure that the Appliance is in a dry place and it dose not get wet. this could cause it to short out when you plug it back in. mine is 35 years old and i hae had to do this twice already. if it has a lot of rust on the back where the gas lines are there may be a pinhole that has released your gas. and repair is more expensive than just replacing it with a working used one.
