Compact Refrigerators

how long would a small 240v campervan fridge run if using an inverter powered by a 130aph deep cycle battery?

and would this set up work long term,or any suggestions would be great.Thanks.

  1. Not very long if at all. You will have to have a Generator or hooked up to 240v service. It would drain the battery in no time. Good Luck.
  2. I assume that the battery would be charged by the caper-van generator, the fridge is already full and at working temperature and the battery fully charged and in good shape. If the above conditions are met and the fridge is used wisely (E.G. keep the door closed when not in use, never leave it completely empty etc)., I believe that it would be enough to run the camper-van engine (Or recharge the battery by other means), for about an our at day perhaps even two days.
  3. Assuming the fridge draws say 70 watts, then it will run for something like15 hours. A bit less than theoretical as the inverter won't be 100% efficient and the 240 output won't be a proper sine wave, so the fridge motor will be below full performance. Watch out for falling voltage because if the fridge motor stalls you are looking at a burn-out.
